Company History

Diamond Advanced Components (formerly known as Comp Rep Components) was founded in 1990 as a dedicated-distributor for Mitsubishi Electronics America.

The company evolved from a single location with two employees into a joint venture with multiple locations including: Westwood Massachusetts, Atlanta Georgia, and San Jose California.

The new millennium brought many changes for DAC, from the dissolution of its joint venture to Mitsubishi's decision to move toward a standard distribution model. These changes produced a new energy and helped to facilitate DAC's reorganization. DAC used its experience and industry relationships to become a limited-line electronics distributor, now offering Conec connectors, CIT Relays and Switches, and FEMA displays.

In November 2003, Diamond Advanced Components was bought by Mary Ellen Michaels, DAC's former Vice President of Operations. Under Ms. Michaels leadership, DAC has earned the special recognition of being one of the few woman-owned technology firms in Massachusetts. DAC has since been certified as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise on both the state-level (State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance - SOMWBA) and national-level (Women's Business Enterprise National Council - WBENC).

Today, the DAC team continues to offer its clients the best products and services in the electronics distribution industry.
